SUPERIOR SURFACE

Some dance floors only have a small .5mm to 1mm surface layer.

Our dance floors are 3-6 times thicker with 3 mm of high pressure laminate flooring. In other words, our dance floors are designed to take all the kicking, stomping, high heel strutting, tap dancing, and boot kicking you can give it. Out top layer is UV resistant (a must for outdoor events and product longevity). Plus the finish has industrial strength scratch resistance to ensure your dance floor goes through years of graduation parties, weddings, holidays, and New Year’s celebrations.

HIGH PRESSURE LAMINATE (HPL)

Our High Pressure Laminate surface is manufactured under high pressure and heat, creating an extremely dense and strong surface. By design, it resists scratches, dents, and impacts better than standard laminate or vinyl flooring. The melamine overlay on HPL acts as a protective shield against moisture, stains, and chemicals. Unlike wood, it won’t warp or swell easily. And it’s easier to clean and maintain than porous surfaces like hardwood or natural stone.

HIGHLY ENGINEERED

Other dance floors use regular plywood. That’s not good for moist or humid environments. Instead, our dance floor’s core uses a highly engineered PVC honeycomb design that is fully waterproof.

The honeycomb design has a natural high strength-to-weight ratio. The honeycomb geometry distributes loads evenly providing excellent compressive strength. This provides the dancefloor with incredible rigidity and stability while staying lightweight…That’s why they use honeycomb designs on aircrafts and even spacecrafts. Furthermore, the structural stability prevents bending, warping, or buckling under load. The interconnected cells provide dimensional stability even over large surfaces.

OUTDOOR COMPATIBLE

While our dance floors are not intended for permanent outdoor installations, they are designed to handle an afternoon thunderstorm, tropical humidity, and of course, wine spills. Use an inferior plywood dance floor and the wood naturally starts to warp in high humidity environments. Furthermore, the High Pressure Laminate (HPL) surface acts as a protective shield against the moisture and UV rays. And you never have to worry about rust as all the metal components are made from marine grade aluminum.

SMOOTH EDGING

While reviewing the dance floor edges, we noticed some are frankly too short and can cause a trip hazard. Our dance floor provides a long 5 inch ramp with a slope of just 10 degrees. This provides ADA compliance while minimizing any trip hazard. (This is a must in reducing liabilities.)

Our dance floor edges are made from marine grade aluminum ensuring high quality, rust free performance for years to come.

OPTIONAL WOOD GRAIN FINISH

Our dance floors are available in a Chestnut and Fruitwood Wood Grain Finish. Each individual dance floor tile is bookmatched to continue the wood grain finish and pattern, uninterrupted from one tile to another. Plus, our “Easy Install Tiles” are directional. That means no matter who installs it, your Wood Grain pattern is always matched in the same direction and with the same pattern.

EASY INSTALLATION

Our dance floor system is easy to install with clearly identified male and female sides. You first lay out all the tiles and edges on a smooth surface. Then, easily press the tiles towards each other before securing them with the camlock tool (included). Finally, press the aluminum edging and camlock each for a secure and stable dancefloor that’s ready to party.

Our precision-engineered edge trim measures 5 inches wide by 0.94 inches high, featuring a gently beveled 10-degree angle for a smooth and safe transition from the dance floor to the surrounding area. This design meets ADA guidelines for accessible routes, helping to minimize trip hazards and ensure comfortable access for all guests. Crafted from durable anodized aluminum, the edging provides a secure perimeter and a professional finish for any event setup. Easy to install and built to withstand heavy use, this edge trim is the ideal solution for creating a seamless, accessible dance floor environment.

*The number of dancers is based on an assumption that only 30% of your guests will be on the dance floor at any one point.

What Is HPL (High-Pressure Laminate)?

HPL stands for High-Pressure Laminate, a high-performance composite surfacing material known for its exceptional durability, hygiene, and design versatility. It is commonly used for kitchen countertops, cabinetry, furniture, commercial interiors, laboratory work surfaces, and architectural wall panels.

HPL is engineered to withstand heavy daily use while maintaining its appearance, making it a reliable and cost-effective alternative to natural stone, solid wood, and other premium surface materials.

How HPL Is Made

High-Pressure Laminate is created by permanently fusing multiple layers of paper and resin into a single dense sheet using extreme heat and pressure. This thermosetting process creates irreversible chemical bonds that give HPL its strength and stability.

  • Core Layers: Approximately 6–8 layers of kraft paper (similar to strong shopping bag paper) are saturated with phenolic resin. These layers form the structural core and provide impact resistance and rigidity.
  • Decorative Layer: A printed decor paper featuring a solid color, pattern, or realistic material look (such as wood grain or stone) is treated with melamine resin to create a hard, cleanable surface.
  • Protective Overlay: A clear, resin-rich wear layer is often added on top to enhance scratch resistance, abrasion resistance, and longevity.
  • High-Pressure Pressing: The layered stack is pressed at temperatures around 300°F (150°C) and pressures exceeding 1,000 PSI. This process transforms the paper and resin into a rigid, non-porous, plastic-like sheet.

Key Performance Benefits

  • Exceptional Durability: Designed for high-traffic and high-use environments, HPL resists impact, wear, and surface damage better than most decorative laminates.
  • Scratch & Abrasion Resistance: Holds up well against everyday use, outperforming solid wood and stainless steel in scratch resistance.
  • Moisture Resistance: The non-porous surface prevents water absorption, reducing the risk of swelling, warping, or mold.
  • Hygienic Surface: The sealed finish is easy to clean and sanitize, making HPL suitable for kitchens, healthcare, and commercial settings.
  • Design Flexibility: Available in a wide range of colors, patterns, textures, and finishes, including realistic wood and stone visuals.

Durability Comparison

  • Stronger than: Melamine (LPL/TFL), wood veneers, and most liquid-applied resin surfaces.
  • More impact-resistant than: Granite and marble, which can chip or crack under heavy impact.
  • More affordable than: Natural stone, quartz, and solid wood surfaces.
  • Main limitation: Lower heat tolerance than stone or concrete—direct contact with very hot cookware can cause scorching.

Common Applications

  • Kitchen and bathroom countertops
  • Cabinet doors and interiors
  • Office and hospitality furniture
  • Retail displays and commercial fixtures
  • Laboratory and educational surfaces (grade-dependent)
  • Decorative wall panels and interior cladding

HPL vs. Other Laminates

HPL differs from low-pressure laminates (such as melamine or TFL) in both construction and performance. While low-pressure laminates are fused directly to a substrate using fewer layers and lower pressure, HPL is manufactured as a separate high-density sheet using significantly higher heat and pressure. This results in superior impact resistance, longer lifespan, and broader application flexibility.

Maintenance and Care

Storage:

  • Store panels in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight and moisture.
  • Use protective transport cases or covers to prevent damage during storage and transit.

Cleaning:

  • Wipe surfaces with a soft, damp cloth after each use to remove dust and debris.
  • For stubborn marks, use a mild soap solution and avoid soaking the panels.
  • Never use abrasive pads or harsh chemicals that could damage the HPL finish.

Sun Protection:

  • Minimize prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to preserve the finish and color.
  • When used outdoors, place in shaded areas or cover when not in use.

Temperature Considerations:

  • Protect from extreme heat or cold, which may affect panel integrity over time.
  • Allow panels to acclimate to room temperature before installation if stored in non-climate-controlled areas.

Inspection:

  • Routinely check for loose fasteners, surface wear, or edge damage before and after use.
